We've got a winner! In October 2018, we earned a Bronze medal for our Maui Tea Farm grown Haleakalā Black Tea at the 2018 Global Tea Championships in Boulder, Colorado. We entered this richly flavorful Springtime grown black tea into the contest along with other USA-grown teas. We were among two USA grown tea farms to earn medals in this year's competition.
This is a tremendous honor, as our unique Maui grown teas and māmaki herbal tisane are all lovingly grown and processed by hand at our farm in Kula, Maui, Hawaii. We began growing tea (Camellia sinensis) in 2013 along with māmaki (a caffeine-free native Hawaiian nettle). We grow and source all of our teas and tisanes using organic and sustainable agricultural practices, with native Hawaiian plants such as koa and ohia trees forming a canopy over our tea plants. When available, we have limited, small batches of our Maui grown Haleakalā black tea for purchase via our website. We also have our delicious herbal māmaki available for purchase through our PONOinfusions site.
